| 05/01/00 | We are pleased to announce the general release of the NPC
Import and GlobalWare Import modules for The Right Track.
Both have gone through a very successful beta testing effort, and are ready to be released
to the general public. The NPC Import module will automatically reconcile data sent by the National
Processing Company as part of their NPC Commission Express system. This is
very exciting, as NPC provides data for just about all of the car companies, as well as
various hotel properties, cruise lines, tour companies and airlines. Therefore, with
this module, it becomes cost effective to track car bookings, as more than 90% of them can
be automatically reconciled. Also, it will allow users to delve into other areas of
non-ARC commission tracking and reporting that were previously too time consuming to
attempt, such as tours and cruises. All in all, the NPC Import module will be a very
valuable addition to our software.
The GlobalWare Import module will allow users of Galileo's new back-office system, named GlobalWare, to import their data into The Right Track. In addition to the standard features found in all of our other back-office import modules, the GlobalWare Import contains one very important enhancement. If The Right Track is installed on a computer that has direct access to GlobalWare, this module will actually gather the necessary commission tracking data directly from GlobalWare and import it into our system without user intervention. In other words, users will not have to download the GlobalWare data, copy it into the correct area, and then import it into The Right Track. They can just specify the requested booking dates, and The Right Track will do the rest! This not only represents a major time savings, it also significantly reduces potential import errors as most of the work is being done automatically. |
| 01/01/00 | Due to a lack of popularity of our DOS version as well as the outdated nature of DOS based programs in general, we have decided to stop production and sales of all DOS versions of The Right Track (both Standard and Deluxe). as of this date. Although we will still support existing clients who are using the DOS version of the program, we will not place any new enhancements in the DOS code, nor will we extend enhancements made to the Windows versions over to the DOS programs. We feel that by dropping the DOS line of software, we are able to fully concentrate on our core competencies, namely future enhancements of the 16-bit and 32-bit Windows versions of The Right Track. To save space on our website as well as avoid customer confusion, we have decided to take all of the DOS software and documentation off of the download area. Therefore, if someone needs to get one of these programs or manuals, they must call the ATS Support Center and request that it be sent via e-mail. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause to any of our current clients. |
| 12/15/99 | The latest version of The Right Track, released on this day, contains two very important features. First, we have completely revamped our security system. The hardware security keys that were required to be installed on the computer(s) running The Right Track have been replaced with a brand new, sophisticated software solution. The new system is completely transparent to the user, and can be immediately updated via passwords entered into the program. The end result is software which is faster to operate and not as prone to system crashes and network conflicts. All users should be converted over to the keyless system by the end of the year. The second feature is more of a platform enhancement. Beginning today, the deluxe version of our software is available in a 32-bit version in addition to our 16-bit program. The new 32-bit software was compiled using the latest version of FoxPro (Visual FoxPro 6.0), and is specifically designed to take advantage of today's latest and greatest hardware. It can run on PC's with Windows 95 or a later operating system (i.e. Win 98, Win 2000, or Win/NT), and it is the only version that will work with our new security system on networks running Windows NT Server. Just as with our keyless version, the primary benefits are a speed increase, and a reduction in system related errors stemming from various hardware and software conflicts. A new section has been added to our download area where you can get the 32-bit software programs as well as 32-bit versions of our utilities.. |
| 04/26/99 | We are pleased to announce that we have moved our offices
to a brand new, state-of-the-art facility located away from the hustle and bustle of New
York City. This change will allow us to feature several advances designed to better
support our customers. First, our new high speed T1 internet lines will make our on-line sales and
support quicker and more effective, as questions e-mailed to use will immediately be
received and thus can be answered sooner. Also, important files can be sent and received
far quicker than before, giving us more time to research and correct any problems that our
customers may be experiencing.
Next and even more importantly, we have switched our main telephone number for both sales and support to a toll-free 800 number! Hopefully, this will make correspondence easier and more effective, as both current and prospective customers should now be more inclined to call us. Please make note of our new address and phone/fax numbers. Automated Travel Solutions, Inc. Phone: (800) 736-0352 |
| 01/01/99 | We are proud to announce that The Right Track has officially joined Galileo's Global Partner Solutions program (formally known as Apollo Partners). As a member of this program, The Right Track will be featured by Galileo along with other top quality third party products. Inclusion in this program also means special introductory rates for new Right Track users who use Galileo software for their CRS or Back Office accounting. By being a part of the Global Partner Solutions program, The Right Track should receive increased visibility at a time when travel agencies desperately need tools to help them remain profitable. |
| 05/08/98 | All versions of The Right Track are now Year 2000 Compatible! The latest build of the software contains several enhancements, the most important of which is the coding to seamlessly allow for dates past 12/31/99. It will now work correctly with dates through the middle of the next century. In addition, users will have the option to display and enter the date fields with either a 2 or 4 digit year. The other notable addition is that the appearance of the different screens has been altered to look the same regardless of the screen resolution that is being used. Now, all of the screen objects will appear in the same place in a 1024x768 or 800x600 resolution as they did with the traditional 640x480. This is merely a cosmetic change and does not affect the functionality of the software. Just about every module of each version of The Right Track has been altered, and the changes (both programs and documentation) are now available from our Download area. |
| 05/01/98 | Automated Travel Solutions, Inc. is proud to debut its permanent web site at the URL: http://www.automatedtravel.com. For the past year, we have had a temporary site at this address which was primarily used for downloading the latest versions of The Right Track. The new site contains extensive areas for Sales, Support, and Program/Documentation Downloads, and is highlighted by an 80+ question Support FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). This FAQ should help both current and new customers get advice and procedures for solving the problems that used to result in a call to our Support Desk. Now, all of the answers are on-line, and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, there are forms for both problem reports and program enhancement requests, which will immediately be e-mailed to us upon submission. We firmly believe that this site will not only enhance our software support, but also help tremendously with sales, as prospective clients can get all the information they need about The Right Track without waiting for us to mail them a sales kit. |
| 04/17/98 | After nine months of successful use by our current clients, we have formally announced the release of the 2.00 versions of The Right Track for DOS and Windows. The delayed release was for two reasons. First, we wanted to make sure that the new software could stand the rigors of daily use without suffering from the bugs inherent in newly released software. From the very few problem reports we have had since distributing the 2.00 versions, this has been achieved beyond our expectations. Next, we did not want to begin selling the software before our documentation was fully updated and our new web site was functional. With the documentation done and the web site days away from implementation, we saw no reason in delaying the formal release of the new software any longer. The release will coincide with our increased marketing efforts, so that we can get more and more agencies to realize the non-ARC commission increases that our current users now enjoy. |
Appearances
| 06/18/98- 06/19/98 |
Big League Users' Group Meeting
- La Mansion Del Rio Hotel, San Antonio, TX We will have an area in the 3rd Party Vendor Trade Show where we will give demonstrations of The Right Track as well as distribute literature about the product. All current TS2000 users who are switching to GlobalWare should stop by to find out how we plan to provide a seamless interface between that system and The Right Track for commission tracking data. This should alleviate the need for the export/import of data that was necessary for The Right Track to work with TS2000. Be sure to ask about the advanced functionality of our system, such as the ability to automatically fax bills to vendors, which takes the commission tracking concept way beyond what is offered by even the most advanced back-office system. |
| 05/31/98- 06/02/98 |
Travel Weekly Conference '98
- Booth #330 - Opryland Hotel, Nashville, TN As has been our tradition ever since debuting the software at the 1992 conference in San Francisco, we will have a booth devoted to giving demonstrations of The Right Track to all interested parties. Please stop by to see how our software can not only organize your entire non-ARC commission tracking and reporting, but also increase your cash intake up to 45% in this area. Be sure to ask about the revolutionary features new to our 2.00 Deluxe version of The Right Track, such as Batch Processing large commission checks, charging Service Fees on Hotel & Car bookings to your customers and agents, and Automatically Faxing Invoices to vendors as opposed to mailing them. We also want our current clients to stop by and let us know how you are progressing with The Right Track. Since many of our eventual enhancements come from user requests, your comments are both invited and appreciated. |
| 05/14/98- 05/16/98 |
TravelBase Users' Group Conference
- Renaissance Dallas Hotel, Dallas, TX In addition to having an area where we can give live demonstrations of The Right Track, we will be sitting in on each presentation of one of the break-out sessions (probably the one about 'Survival Skills'). Here, we plan to answer any and all questions about The Right Track, including why agencies already using TravelBase can benefit tremendously from doing their commission tracking & reporting with our software. Many of our current TravelBase clients will be on-hand, so this can be a great opportunity to ask them to illustrate the many advantages of The Right Track. If you are a TravelBase agency who either currently uses their commission tracking module, or has chosen a different option due to its drawbacks, we urge you to attend this conference and see what The Right Track is all about. |
